Hunting

Island Ranch Outfitters is located in northwest Oklahoma in Major County about 6 miles southwest of Ames. We are situated along the historic Cimarron River. The Cimarron runs along the ranch for about 6 miles or so. Along with the Cimarron down the west side of the ranch, we are bordered on the east by a series of lakes and sloughs/cattail marshes. With all this water we winter a significant amount of waterfowl ON the ranch. We also hunt playa type lakes in the area.

Needed for hunting with IR outfitters:

Waders, even when field hunting waders are a good idea. Camouflage clothing, gun, shells and Licenses, this is essential, all hunters need license, oklahoma duck stamp, federal duck stamp and HIP permit. Licenses can be puchased online. (We dont sell them; see below for more info, you have to have them to hunt)

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife and Conservation is the government agency charged with managing fish and game species and issuing hunting and fishing licenses across the state. All fees from hunting and fishing licenses go toward wildlife conservation in Oklahoma. More than 800 license dealers are spread across the state to make it easy, fast and simple to pick up a license. Pricing

Full day guided hunt $250 per person (includes hot lunch)

Weekend package includes 1 night accommodation, meals included $500

We can also offer processing of kill at $2 per bird.
